The Amazing Tocino Challenge!

Yes, you heard it right. Challenge.I now challenge my amateur cooking skills to greater heights. Ambitious kasi ako.


I will cook. You give the ingredients. Mala-Iron Chef! Here are the mechanics.



1. Sa comments section, write any ingredient (must be edible-ofcourse). It can be anything under the sun! Pero you must see to it na meron 'to sa Supermarket ah! 'Wag naman masyadong effort sa ingredients pa lang.

2. Randomly (through random.org), I will pick 3 ingredients na gagamitin ko. This draw will be at 12:01am of the 8th day since it was posted. Basically, a week after.

3. Then, gagamitin ko lahat ng ingredients na 'to, together with some basic ingredients (garlic etc.) to create a masterpiece! :)

4. Whatever the result, I will post it here as soon as makapagluto na ko! :)



 Clear? Kahit anong ingredient ah! Basta nakakain! :) Let the challenge begin...

Peppered Tofu



Now, here's a simple and healthy snack recipe that can be done at home by anyone. 
The ingredients are:
  • Tofu Slices 
  • Flour
  • Crushed Black Peppercorns
  • Salt
    Steps
    1. Cut the tofu in desirable slices (about 1c to 2cm in thickness)
    2. Prepare the coating (Mix together equal parts of crush black peppercorns and flour then add a pinch of salt)
    3. Coat each slice of tofu generously
    4. Deep fry until golden brown
    5. Sprinkle Pepper on top, if desired.


    Yes, napaka-pormal. And yes, hindi ako ganon kagaling gumawa ng isang recipe. Kasi ako, hindi ako normally nagtatake down ng notes pag nagluluto. This time lang! Kasi madali lang eh. :) Next time, yung mas complicated na recipe na. 

    Pwedeng pwedeng snack 'tong Peppered Tofu na 'to. Madalas ko tong ginagawa para may makain ako habang nanunuod ng TV. Imbes na junkfood, itong tofu nalang para healthy!

      Inihaw na Tocino!

      Obvious naman sa title ng blog ko na mahilig ako sa tocino, diba? And it has been a while since nakakain ako ng tocino (at nakapag-post sa blog na 'to). Pero bigla akong nabuhayan ng makita ko 'to!

      Inihaw na tocino! WTF! Ang cool! 


      Nakita ko 'tong amazing tocino na to sa isang bbq stand sa intersection ng Magallanes street and Victoria street sa Intramuros, Manila. Para rin siyang bbq, kasi meat rin na nasa skewer. Iniihaw siya habang pinapahiran ng adobo oil. It takes a few minutes para maluto since small tocino pieces lang din 'to and nakahiga siya sa nagbabagang uling.




      And the verdict, MASARAP. :)) Although parang pritong tocino lang din 'to kasi adobo oil din naman ang pinapahid sa tocino, Natutuwa pa rin ako kasi kakaiba 'to! First time ko kasing nakita 'to eh! :) Php 15 lang isang stick, approximately 3 to 4 pieces ang isa. Ulam na ulam ang lasa, kanin nalang ang kulang, solved na!

      Food Trip - Sariling Kusina

      Mataba ako. Yes, I know.

      Isa sa mga dahilan ay ang hilig ko sa pagkain. I consider our kitchen at home as a sanctuary. Magiikot-ikot lang ako sa pantry, nakakaisip na ako agad ng pwedeng maluto. Healthy man o hindi, edible pa rin naman ang niluluto ko - nakakakaya kong kainin eh.

      Sa mga susunod na mga linggo, asahan ang Food Trip ko sa sariling kusina. Experiment. AYOS 'TO!
